Enhancing Power BI Visuals: Disabling Clicks on a Shape Map While Keeping Tooltips Active

I'm trying to show data distribution across states on a Shape Map in Power BI. I want to prevent users from clicking on the map while still allowing tooltips to display when they hover over states.

The reason for this is that unless we want to show specific data for each state, having the map clickable can create an expectation that clicking will reveal more information. This can lead to confusion and a less optimal user experience.

In ClicData, there is a feature that allows users to disable clicks while keeping tooltips active. This functionality is very useful for presenting data without enabling interactions that might mislead users.

Proposed Solution: Introduce an option in the Shape Map visual to disable clicks while keeping tooltips active. This feature should allow users to:

  • Toggle the interactivity of the map on or off.
  • Ensure tooltips remain visible when hovering over states, even when clicks are disabled.

Thank you for considering this enhancement. It would significantly improve the user experience and make Power BI even more powerful and user-friendly.
