Enhancements to Admin Monitoring Dashboards

We are from Ford Power BI Tenant Admin Team and we are trying to extract Usage Metrics of Workspaces, Users, Items, Capacities, Refreshes and etc. that are managed by our team.

We have few specific KPIs/Metrics we are looking at and to get them we explored both Feature Usage/Adoption and Content Sharing Dashboards.

Attached in the Excel Screenshot are our Findings. For each KPI/Metric, we have put our expectation/requirement and also mentioned what we saw as a limitation in getting what we actually want.
We have opened a case with Microsoft with TrackingID#2508120040003141 and we were asked to post an Idea on this portal. We would like to know:

  1. If there is an easy way in extracting Metrics from existing Admin Monitoring Dashboards?
  2. It requires us to put filters each time we navigate between visuals within same report.
  3. If there are more filter options on more fields(Dimensions/Measures) would help us extract reports with granular detail.
  4. The timeframe is also limited and we cannot set filters on that - another problem.

Could you please take this suggestion/feedback from the Excel Screenshot and help introduce enhancements to the existing Admin Monitoring dashboards that helps Tenant Admins. Admin_Monitoring_Feedback_3.pngAdmin_Monitoring_Feedback_2.pngAdmin_Monitoring_Feedback_1.png

Thanks for posting this. As mentioned in the case, It would help a lot if the native Power BI in-built Monitoring dashboards can offer more flexibility in terms of - More Filter Options on More Fields, Wider Time Range and Options to choose month-wise etc., Include Metrics for Semantic Models/Data Refreshes and Include Metrics of Users per Workspace at Access Level Wise. Customers moving from other platforms (Ex: Qlik) who were able to make use of the in-built monitoring Apps - will expect similar options in Power BI world.

Thank you for posting this idea! People from the Freudenberg Group are looking for the same feature. - To look back the last 12 months would be very beneficial to monitor trends and impact oft digitalization initiatives. - Please make the data itself available for custom reports as well: In our case we have a mapping between departments / users towards digitalization roadmaps and global regions. Our IT Management always wants to see these KPIs split towards these. In addition this would allow to visualize it in the company theme and style. You could add a „export usage data“ option within the tenant settings like the Microsoft Power Platform is offering it.
