Enable SharePoint Image Rendering in Power BI Mobile Application

Currently, Power BI reports that use images from SharePoint URLs (e.g., images stored in SharePoint lists or libraries) render correctly in Power BI Service (Web), but do not display in the Power BI Mobile app.

To work around this, many users—including our team—have been converting images to Base64 format and embedding them in the report. While this approach allows images to render in the mobile app, it significantly degrades report performance

Request:
Please enable native rendering of SharePoint-hosted images in the Power BI Mobile application, just like it works in Power BI Service (Web).

Why this matters:

  1. SharePoint is a core part of the Microsoft ecosystem, often used for storing business-critical images (e.g., item photos, inspection photos, employee headshots).
  2. Power BI and SharePoint are frequently used together across organizations.
  3. Mobile users (especially in the field or frontline workers) need a consistent, performant experience without relying on inefficient base64 encoding.
  4. Enabling this would eliminate the need for heavy workarounds and improve report responsiveness.
