Enable Direct Table Updates in Power BI Semantic Models via Power Automate

Power Automate currently allows triggering dataset refreshes and running queries against semantic models, but it lacks the ability to directly insert, update, or delete rows in tables within a Power BI semantic model.

Adding this capability would:

  • Enable end-to-end automation for business workflows
  • Reduce reliance on external tools like SSMS, XMLA scripts, or Databricks
  • Empower users to build dynamic, responsive models that reflect real-time changes from apps like SharePoint, Forms, or Dynamics

This feature would be especially powerful for users of all Power BI license types, and would align well with Microsoft's push toward low-code/no-code solutions.
