Power BI Feature Request: Customizable Checkbox Color in Slicer Visuals
Description:
Currently, Power BI does not allow report designers to customize the color of checkboxes within slicer visuals, whether in dropdown or list formats. The checkbox color is determined by system defaults and is not affected by theme JSON or visual formatting options. This limitation can lead to accessibility and readability issues, especially when slicers are placed on backgrounds with strong colors (e.g., deep red), making the default checkbox color difficult to see.
Requested Enhancement:
Please add the ability to customize the color of checkboxes in slicer visuals. This could be implemented via:
Theme JSON properties (e.g., checkboxColor for slicers)
Formatting pane options within the Power BI UI
Benefits:
Improves accessibility for users with visual impairments
Enhances design flexibility for report creators
Ensures better contrast and readability for slicers on custom backgrounds
Aligns with other customizable elements in Power BI visuals
Use Case Example:
A report designer sets a slicer background to deep red and needs the checkbox to appear white for maximum visibility and user experience. Currently, this is not possible, and the checkbox remains gray or black, reducing usability.
Thank you for considering this feature to enhance Power BI’s customization and accessibility!
