Enable Adding New Columns from Remote Semantic Models in DirectQuery Mode
Description:
When using DirectQuery to connect to a Power BI dataset (semantic model), it would be extremely helpful to have the ability to:
- Add new columns from the source model without modifying the original dataset.
- Extend the schema dynamically in the consuming report.
- Refresh schema metadata to detect newly added columns in the source dataset.
This would improve flexibility, especially in enterprise environments where users may not have access to modify the original dataset but still need to work with updated data structures.
