Embed Power BI Report Server reports into extranet apps

Allow Embedding of Power BI Report Server Reports for Extranet Apps. Because of our clients needs data cannot leave our servers and be put on the cloud. Our existing SSRS reports are displayed using a report viewer object, however this will not work for PBIX. We need to ability to embed PBIX and display it externally. Is this going to be possible with Power BI report Server?

Ideally, it would be something similar to the SSRS reportviewer solution so that all powerbi to web front end access is done on the backend and rendered to the client.

This is huge for us because we have an enterprise application in which we embed SSRS reports using the ReportViewer control, which allows us to "override user authentication in a secure way", and we'd like to do something similar with PowerBI Reports. Any chance we know when this is going to happen?

'@John Fields, how did you do this. I have configured custom authentication and copied the url and embed it in our application. But when I login with a report server configured user in my application and when I access the page, I get the custom authentication login page. Any suggestions would really helpful.

'@ChrisFinlan With the recent announcement of the new PowerBI release schedule, do you have a timeline on when ADFS/AAD might be implemented? Do you think it will be in the January Release? I'm guessing not based on the release notes found here - https://dynamics.microsoft.com/en-us/business-applications/release/ Is this the place where we'd see ADFS/AAD planned for Report Server? We are planning to build out a fairly large deployment and this feature would help from an end user experience

Any Updates? We have a external web application that we want to embedded power bi reports into and want to use the existing application login and have the reports secure so customers cant see each others data. I currently have something working with Power BI Embedded but we already have a Power Bi Report Server the BI Team is using and we also have Sensitive data we dont want to store in "THe Cloud" lol. Is there a Application Owns data model for the reporting server yet, like power bi embedded?

I second the comment below. A solution for embedding power bi reports in an external web application from power bi report server would be an almighty selling point for this software solution

I would like to see this (enable your app to override user authentication in a secure way)soon preferably with Jan-19 update / release
