Dropdown and/or tree list global filter

To allow a filter to cover a hierarchy with perhaps 5000 or 10,000 items nested through multiple levels of a hierarchy. Eg, for a sub category and below

It would be nice to have a drop-down list component that can be used as filter on the report.

I support the idea, basically a filter but instead of having all the items listed with a "check box", they can be in a dropdown list, it reduces the space in the canvas and gives you a cleaner look. E.g. if you are filtering 30 items you have 30 check boxes to select and takes lots of canvas space. With a dropdown filter i'll be easier and cleaner.

I support the idea as well ! I was surprised not to find a dropdown list-like visualisation to allow users to select easily a item from a list and filter the other vis...

I think the dropdown list - like the one in DataZen would help a lot. Similarly the date picker needs to be made a bit better.
