Dropdown and/or tree list global filter

To allow a filter to cover a hierarchy with perhaps 5000 or 10,000 items nested through multiple levels of a hierarchy. Eg, for a sub category and below

The ability to have multipledrop downs on a report would be great.. It was what users are used to with general reporting tools. E.g. drop down for region and a drop down for product line. The charts/data grids would then filter based on the combination of multiple drop down boxes. So when can we have it? 🙂

I agree that an expandable tree filter would be a great addition allowing a user to "drill" into hierarchical data that potentially comprises hundreds of thousands of end-level nodes. I would like to see the control allow a user to set the currently selected node as the new root of the tree filter so that space isn't cluttered by ancestor or sibling branches of no interest to the user. Likewise, the user should be able set the root one level higher, or all the back to the top level in the hierarchy. There should be an option to expand the tree filter while suppressing unselected nodes, thus allowing the user to see all currently selected nodes collectively at the same time.
