In displaying a report i want my users to be able to slice on, it would save room and clean up the face of my report if users could simply drop down the available slicer field options to choose from vs. squeezing in multiple slicer boxes, where all they might see on the surface is a search box, select all, etc.

This is meanwhile resolved. You can define a slicer to be shown as a drop down.
