Drill to details (view row-level data)

Whenever I see an aggregated metric (e.g., $483,572 in sales) - in, say, a column in a chart or a cell in a matrix - I should be able not only to drill down to a next level of detail, but to "drill to details" - all the way down to the individual rows of data (e.g., the individual sales orders) that make up that value.

Thanks for all the feedback. We just released the April version of Power BI desktop, including new drill functionality. You can drill into a particular column in a chart and see the records behind that part of the visual. kind of related would be very useful to be able to click any cell value and open a new temporary report page filtered for that specific context allowing for a drill down analysis . this one time drill page could then be dropped or saved in the report, without changing any existing page

This would also need to come with the ability to restrict the user from doing such drill downs, in cases where there might be data security/privacy restrictions.

Like Tableau, once you construct charts and diagrams to show the % or consolidated number, enable users to drill down the underlying records that make up the numbers on the chart

Drillthrough (drill to details) is such a critical function that we have to change to other technology (e.g., Excel) only because the business users demand this function. They use it not only for information purposes but also as a way to validate the summary level data in the chart/table. Please add this function to PowerBI as soon as possible. Thanks!

All users to select a segment of a Power BI visualizaition and view the underlying detailed information via right-click or other similar function.

Is Drill Through Action available to see the underlying data?

Yeah, I click on a bar in my chart and it highlights and says X number which is great. But if I double-click I expect it to take me to a table to show me exactly which rows made up that data. This is a powerful feature in a lot of analytical tools, and it's missing here. It would really make for intelligent insights.

This is absolutely critical to our business users, and a feature that has been seriously lacking. You will make a LOT of people happy by plugging this hole! 🙂
