Feature very necessary. Please add as quickly as possible! An option to save the data model as another extension (pbimx, for example) and import it into another file pbix would be ideal.

This sounds like a really essential feature. I can't wait till it is implemented. It is good to know that you are working on it and that it will soon be in our hands.

we're going to move servers, and lose absolutely everything - user accounts, the lot. the steps to get everyone back up and running are really easy - make note of how your dashboards are put together, make a list of who they're shared with, republish from Desktop version. BUT for all users without Desktop, who've done any work at all ever in PowerBI online? everything will be gone. All of it. getting someone to identify all steps they created a report from plus the other stuff? geez

If we had this functionality it would significantly improve the management of our Bi services.

It would also be nice to have backup of pbix files in desktop version incase we forgot to save. Can we export report in service to desktop version?

An evolution of this would be to be able to change Models and Reports in POwerBi.Com directly in Power BI Desktop without the need to export or import files.
