Currently Export data can be disabled from the service but not from Power BI Embeded. We want to keep our data from being able to exported by others and see Power BI Embeded as our prefered roll out solution but the lack of ability to turn off the export feature means that we are not currently able to use Embeded for this purpose. Ideally we need a way to control export data at a visual level but at minimum control at a dashboard / report level. This is a high priority feature for us to be able to complet our role out.

- Agreed, there is too much IP wrapped up in our dashboard content to allow it to be downloaded by end users. This precludes our use case scenario working in Power BI
- Great to see that this is getting some support. It is a major concern for us and it would be good to get some more votes on this item so that Microsoft can look at this one.
- Make the current functionality available only via a password.
- Great idea Jerome that would certainly help. You would think a control to turn these features on or off for each visual should not be that hard. One thing that I have done is to put a clear box over visuals that do to need to be clicked on to stop people accessing them. This is not always possible though.
- Agreed, but more than this, we find the box and options at the top of each visual unnecessary - having it on every visual looks awful in Power BI embedded. Allowing this all to be turned off (including the export feature, agreed this is really important) would be best for us - we also need the ability to turn off focus mode for each visual.
- Embedded is the best way to share reports but needs to be greatly improved before it becomes viable for many. Get this right and the uptake, especially in my organisation, will be much improved.
- There are some cases when it is desired for people to export the data that is currently related to the vis (not the report view). It would be nice to have the ability to control if you want the vis to be exportable or not.
- Has there been any progress on this issue? Data security is critical for us, and Power BI Embedded becomes unusable if we cannot prohibit exporting data.
- Need to be able to do this to prevent Lat/Long or other data from being downloaded so that we can stay within EULAs for various data sets we may be using.
- If we could dynamically set this permission, that would be fantastic. We have some people who know what they're doing and can use the raw data exported to do very granular analysis and others who would only get more confused by all the data.
