DirectQuery in Power BI does not allow to send the parameters.
We want to send the searched parameters from the power BI report UI through power BI direct query to backend which is not possible through direct query.
As we have large volume of data it is creating performance issues due to the way direct query is working.
Instead of pulling all data and then filtering the required data , is there a option to send the filter parameters through direct query which helps us to get subset of data that is needed.??
OR
let us know if you an other way to. get part of live data to be shown to customers
This issue is causing reports performance issue on our side, instead of gettting in milli seconds , the report is loading in minutes.
Could you try to find out a way to let us get the subset of live data than retrieving every thing. Thanks

I think this technique will accomplish what you are trying to achieve. https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/connect-data/desktop-dynamic-m-query-parameters The table of values can be imported tables from your data source.
