With large volume of data in SharePoint List, it takes forever for a scheduled/on-demand refresh as it refreshes everything from scratch. It would be nice to support direct query (live query) agains...
The hourly(ish) OneDrive cloud refresh is not frequent enough and the 30 minute frequency on Premium Capacity can consume a lot resources if not used wisely. Having a direct query option to SP online would open up a significant amount of possibilities for real time business oversight using Power BI, especially for organizations that rely on SP as their primary data platform.
