DialGauge custom visual have been facing issue with the % figure displayed at the bottom (only on dashboard). When I drill down at the report level this % figure is correct. The % figure on the dashboard for DialGauge keeps on fluctuating at different time intervals.
This bug made us re-think if PowerBI is worth the energy we are putting into it. It had big impact on our reports and the trust of us and our management in this tool. Ever heard of regression testing? These errors should not occur.
Ashish, Charles, I'm using the DialGauge custom visual. 1. I'm surprised PowerBI doesn't have a dial-like gauge and we had to go with something custom. 2. I've struggled with this custom visual since I've taken it on. The most recent August update has caused havoc on it, the Pointer value and the Max value get switched if you had both, the red/yellow/green coloring is all over the board, etc. 3. I've reached out to CloudFront twice via their support page and email address and I've gotten no response. 4. I've been able to update some of the formatting by modifying the visual myself. This last break is a huge issue with us, I'm on a tight development timeline and we can't validate any of the development until this gauge is fixed. If you have any recommendations on how to fix this issue I'd love to hear. Otherwise, I'll keep you updated on any progress I make on fixing this visual for the latest Power BI release.
I'm also facing this issue. Several dashboards that are used on a weekly basis have now been corrupted! Valter - if you have successfully modified the visual, would you be able to share your work? Hopefully there will be some kind of fix.
Good Afternoon Mike, I realize as I'm sure many others utilizing Power BI that many of the visuals are custom. With that being said once a visual has been tested and executed on our Power BI reports there should be no reason why we should doubt the visual going forward. Is it the Admin's position that we should not be using these visuals?
I've fixed the DialGauge for the issue where the Pointer, Max, Red, Yellow, etc. values get messed up in the August 2016 release. I made one line change, not sure if I'm allowed to post to the Visuals Gallery directly. Email me @ valter.herman@rsmus.com for details. I've also updated the visual to do things like remove the % sign on the bottom percentage if I didn't want to show a percentage and added comma separators to the Max and Pointer values if they go into the thousands. Note this meant I had to create a separate visual for removing the percent sign. I'm not smart enough to know how to make that an option.
even i want to get rid of that 0% , could you share the visual with me too? also do we have any dial guage kind if thing where we can show three values low, high medium and a pointer kind of thing to point to the meter reading value? I have tried to use dial gauge but not sure if it will work 100% with real time data.
