I see that calculated columns can be created using DAX in Power BI Desktop, but this is not available in the Cloud version. It would be great to have this functionality there.
Absolutely. If MS want to push Power BI in the cloud with its links to Azure, it could be a fantastic product but not if its desktops poor cousin. Features like this MUST be at least in the Pro version
Must have. If you are going to have data integration through the Power BI API then there needs to be a means to create DAX calculations after the data comes through the service.
We are evaluating differences between Power BI and Tableau. And this is on BIG area where Tableau has an advantage. You can create calculated fields/columns in Tableau Web. But as of July 2020, it looks like you still can't do that in Power BI.
