Access On Prem data sources exposed by my already-configured Data Management Gateway

If we used this we would need to assign by groups, not just users. https://powerbi.microsoft.com/en-us/documentation/powerbi-gateway-enterprise-manage-sql/#manage-users

It's pretty inconvenient to have to fire up the desktop product just to author something that uses the gateway.

It's an incredible hassle for users. Previously any admin could enter a group workspace and connect to an Analysis Service instance, giving the users access to data for report building. Now if a new workspace is created, it can't access data.

We have Azure Data Factory and have the data management Gateway. We should have one unified gateway as they do the same kind of thing. Then we can manage one box instead of multiple on premise for each gateway.
