Data Gateway Issue Reporting

Would be nice to have more details written to the Windows Event log and some way to monitor for connectivity to the service behind the gateway. We had an issue where the network routes changed and although the service was running on the gateway server, it was failing to connect to the PBI service via the network. Need some way to report on this type of failure and have more logging available alert off.
