Data Catalog integration in PowerBI Designer

The Power BI Desktopis missing integration with the Data Catalog and there is no online search functionality. The data catalog is a core component of the reporting solution so let me use it with the Power BI Designer

I just came back to this same issue after posting an initial comment 2 years ago to find that a user friendly solution to this fundamental daftness still hasn't been implemented by Microsoft. So we're off to find another non-MS product that will deliver, which is a shame as PQ and PBI are both good products (independently of themselves!)

PBI should support consuming queries from data catalog, the underlying M language source code is identical!

Hi there Can you please let me know if we have a resolution on this? Currently just copy and paste from the Advance editor is the quickest option but being able to share the queries with others in the company would be more than "handy". Cheers

Now that this idea is about to celebrate its 4th birthday, an official response is long overdue. What are the reasons for delay? Does MS have required priorities that must be met before the AZURE Data Catalog and PowerBI Desktop are allowed to talk with one another? Was painting the filter blade white truly more important? There are more than 500 very confused customers that would appreciate an explanation. Love what you're doing. Just eager to understand. Please. Thank you.

Will this idea cover my urgent need to be able to use Azure Data Catalog to discover and connect to (objects in) sources. I couldn't find this specific use case in the Azure Data Catalog ideas so logged a new idea: https://feedback.azure.com/forums/906052-data-catalog/suggestions/36444655-power-bi-connector-get-data-via-azure-data-catal Like other commenters I am very unhappy about the lack of integration between Azure Data Catalog and Power BI.
