Data Agent is currently dependent on /affiliated with a data lake, as an add-on option, which requires that the data lake be created or existing in advance. Even though a data agent may not need to work on data from any particular data lake. In fact, a data agent can work on data merely from a SQL database or mirrored database or from another data lake.
Why not make Data Agent an item on the "New Item" menu? Users may add data sources for the agent to work on at configuration. It does not have to depend upon any specific pre-existing data lake.
Getting on the top-level "New Item" menu would improve popularity and visibility of the Data Agent and serve a quick shortcut to its creation.
