Assuming this is Power BI desktop; please maximize Power BI. Also verify it is working in the sample: https://wabieu2pbivisuals.blob.core.windows.net/powerbi-visuals/BrushChart1447292826280/sample-report/BrushChart.pbix

Can i get a pbix and a screenshot from one of the folks suffering this to investigate?

I have exactly the same issue. Since Update July 2016, the custom visual can no more be added. Import seems to be successfuil but nothing is displayed in the list of visual in Power BI Desktop. Import again gives an "update" possibility but after this it is still not visible. A Delete action gives an empty list...

Hi, I'm having exact same issue. On Power Bi Desktop, any import of Customer Visual is successful but no icon shows up. regarding olds *.pbix files with Customer Visuals the Icons do not appear either, the object on the canvas remains but is completely blank and can't be changed. The brush chart Template gives exact same behaviour. thanks for your help.

I have the same issue, none of my custom visuals work since the June update. When I open the file attached from Charles I get a blank screen and no custom visual in the visuals list.

Hi, i have the same issue on Desktop (2.37.4464.602 32-bit and 64-bit). For example, with timeline visual and sample (https://app.powerbi.com/visuals/show/Timeline1447991079100), i import successfully the visual (Timeline.1.3.14.pbiviz), i don't see the icon, and the object on the canvas in Timeline.pbix is blank and can't be changed. Thanks!

Hi, I found out that solution in the fórum Desktop (https://community.powerbi.com/t5/Desktop/Desktop-Custom-Visuals-not-importing-Cant-import-any/m-p/59525/highlight/true#M24387). My company have a proxy setup in its network lan settings. I turned it off, reset Power BI Desktop and installed the visuals correctly. Thanks and regards!!

Hi all I am experiencing the same issue and came to this page while researching. As described, the import of a custom visual gives a success message, but the custom visual does not appear in visualizations. Dashboards that already contain custom visuals give an error message "An error occurred while rendering the report" when opening. I have noticed that this happens only on a machine that is offline (and per se never has internet access). The problem does not occur when I install PowerBI on a machine that has internet access. Some solutions suggest the problem is related to a proxy setting, but this does not apply to a computer that is completely offline. Can somebody confirm that PowerBI Desktop needs to have internet access in order to import custom visuals? Is there some kind of verification process going on? I am using PowerBI Desktop, version 2.39.4526.362 64-bit (September, 2016) Thank you!

This issue seems to be on going - as other mentioned it seems that there are some type of call backs during the install which causes it to not show up once it installs for those on a proxy or those who do not have an internet connection. Is there an ETA for when this will be resolved? Something must of changed since about 6 months ago when this was not an issue.
