Create calculated measures on top of a live SSAS connection

Creating a live connection to SSAS MD or Tabular is working just fine. However, it would be very beneficial to have the ability to create new calculated measures (in MDX). Just like we can create our own calculated measures when writing an MDX query for a SSRS dataset.

As a matter of cross-product consistency, this should be a feature of the product for Live SSAS (both Tabular AND multidimensional) connections. I strongly support as well, the ability to add other data sources, pretty much like SSRS does.

This is really important. Without this, the SSAS model developers must do custom work to enable all but the most basic of reports; if the end users can define their own custom measures and columns the tool will be far more flexible, and there will be no need to clutter the model with dozens of computed columns and measures that only exist to enable a singe report.

Very good one. I need this as well. We are considering using Tableau because we need this feature for end users to be able to create their own calculations and easy developers job.

Need this, please add a.s.a.p. Then my customers can start using Power BI instead of their current tools that support this

I need this also, but only with DAX. Doesn't make sense to do MDX on top of a tabular engine. This should work just like for DirectQuery (https://powerbi.microsoft.com/en-us/blog/power-bi-updates-this-week-new-report-authoring-capabilities/#direct).

This would allow users to create a new DAX measure on a data source that is an SSAS cube that would get executed at query time with the EVALUATE function. It would be great if users could create their own measures on tables and choose to publish them to allow others (either groups or everyone) to reuse their measure.

In addition to MDX calculated measures, the 'Show Value As' functionality provided in Excel OLAP Pivot Tables would be very useful Currently simple transformations like looking at a value as a % of its column require a new measure with ALL/ALLEXCEPT functions, this is very cumbersome for a developer and not possible for an end user Thanks... and thank you for an otherwise excellent product so far
