Copy bookmarks on page duplication

I regular need to copy pages that have multiple visuals that are shown based on bookmarks and then have to edit the new page.

The issue I have is as follows: I start editing the new page, I click on the bookmark navigator and continue to edit the page, not realizing that I have navigated to the original page, resulting in repairing the original page and applying the changes again on the copied page.

It would be so helpful to copy the page related bookmarks and change the bookmark navigator to these new bookmarks when copying a page.

+1000 on this. I love bookmarks and what they can be used to achieve, especially with the new navigators, but the fact that duplicating a page doesn’t duplicate the page’s bookmarks and update them to work on the new page is INCREDIBLY time-consuming.

The fact that bookmarks don’t get copied/updated makes it painfully difficult to standardize report experiences for enterprise-level BI implementations. A single report with 10 pages and 2 bookmarks per page requires 20 updates. Just imagine how painful that is across 5 reports, especially when those reports have to be updated by different BI devs! 😭

I upvoted but I'd love for folks to provide details on how this could be made better. I can see where sometimes the existing behavior is exactly what you want (rare, though). What UI prompts or such should be added when you copy a page?

I totally agree. It is extremely time consuming to remake bookmarks for every new page. Book marks should have a relationship with the page that they're made on, so when a page is duplicated, the new page has new book marks that work for the new objects on the new page.

This would mean that every time a page is duplicated all the bookmarks would also be duplicated.

This would also mean we'd need a tool to select multiple bookmarks and delete them if we didn't need them on the new page.
