Copy Job 'Choose data' - choosing columns should apply to source query

Currently the GUI of Copy Job allows you to select specific columns of a source table. But it is not excluding the ingestion to those tables. Instead it queries the entire table and only uses the selected columns for the mapping taking place after the ingestion. It also states that it only applies to the mapping, so it's not a bug, but please allow the column selection to alter the query to the source.

Could you please elaborate more on 'but please allow the column selection to alter the query to the source.'? Is it to support query in source side? If yes, it's already supported.
