We have observed an inconsistency in the display format of guest users' email addresses in Power BI. When external users are added as guest users in another tenant and provided direct access to a Power BI report, the email addresses are displayed differently under Manage permissions --> Direct access. For some users, the UPN created in Azure is displayed, while for others, the external email address is shown.
For example:
First external user email address: mark.taylor@ltimindtree.com
Second external user email address: ben.white@ltimindtree.com
Both users have been added as guest users to the FrachtFWOInc.onmicrosoft.com tenant. When provided direct access to a Power BI report, the email addresses appear as mark.taylor@ltimindtree.com and ben.white_ltimindtree.com#EXT#@FrachtFWOInc.onmicrosoft.com under Manage permissions --> Direct access.
To avoid unnecessary confusion, the customer requests that the UPN of the guest users be displayed under the Email Address field when navigating to Manage permissions --> Direct access for a report.
