When attempting to connect to Google BigQuery from Power BI, users currently encounter a list of all available projects within the organization, irrespective of their individual access permissions. This includes projects where the user does not have the necessary privileges to view or query any tables.
This behavior creates unnecessary clutter, makes it difficult for users to quickly identify relevant projects, and can lead to confusion or wasted time attempting to access unauthorized data sources.
We request an enhancement to the Power BI Google BigQuery connector. The desired functionality is that when a user connects, Power BI should only display the Google Cloud projects for which the authenticated user has explicit table-level access or higher.
This would streamline the connection process, improve user experience, and enhance data governance by only presenting actionable options.
