Connect to Teradata using LDAP Authentication

My organisation requires connections to Teradata to use LDAP authentication. This option should be available in PowerBI. It was previously requested in Power Query but is not yet delivered: https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/2c3c74a8-6ef9-4c34-8dec-83d21d041e39/how-to-connect-to-teradata-with-ldap-authentication-via-powerquery?forum=powerquery

Would really like to use PowerBI but my company uses LDAP authentication for connections to Teradata warehouse. When will this capability be implemented. How about a workaround ?

Our organization requires the same LDAP authentication due to the sensitivity rail road operations.

For Imported reports, you can use Teradata ODBC for Power BI Desktop and Gateway w/ DSN set with AuthMeth=LDAP as a 'stored/shared credential'. MS is working on LDAP support with Teradata connector (aka Teradata .NET), contact MS for status.

Any update on this suggestion? The ODBC workaround suggested below is not feasible for very large data sets.

Is there any progress ? When will be possible to connect to Teradata using .NET provider with LDAP ?

Now that custom connectors are out, can this be patched to allow LDAP ? Or can MSFT publish the code for the community to take over and make some enhancements ? This is really a bottleneck if you wish to use DirectQuery as the workaround, using ODBC driver, does not allow DirectQuery. A real bummer when you have a 100M dataset...

Not having the LDAP connector is holding back our adoption of Power BI, it would be really good to have this sorted 🙂

This was posted here too. https://community.powerbi.com/t5/Integrations-with-Files-and/Teradata-and-LDAP/m-p/34286/highlight/true#M3571 Any chance MSFT would publish the source code for the Teradata .NET connector ? The fix is actually straight-forward: enable the 'connection string' edit field available for other connectors and one can add any applicable parameter, in this case "...;Authentication Mechanism=LDAP"
