Connect to Dataflows from Excel's Power Query

Please allow the connection to Dataflows' entities from Excel's Power Query. There are many cases when customers use Excel and not Power BI. But Dataflows can make the refresh process much faster for them. Thanks

This would really help to automate many things. Complex Power Queries can run scheduled in the cloud once instead of 100 times on individual Excels.

Excel's Power Query should be totally aligned with the Power BI Power Query capabilities.

Strong support for this idea. Mentioned ability sound perfect. Now I have to connect Excel with SQL and repeat normalisation all the time I need separate excel using still same data but for another user with different view. Dataflows connector in excel will allow me to use dataflows across all my tasks.

We shouldn't need to ask. 😉 Go!

Definitely have a need for this. There are a number of instances where what I need to produce is achievable in Excel but not PBI. PBI needs to be properly integrated into the Office suite so we can pull data into all applications as appropriate.

Please implement this as we are looking to use Dataflows as a light data warehouse. Not being able to pull this into Excel cripples Dataflows in filling this function.

With the pace of both Microsoft Office and IT release cycles, I wonder if the existing ODBC connector and the following idea could help provide a quicker time-to-market to serve this need: https://ideas.powerbi.com/forums/265200-power-bi-ideas/suggestions/39704425-ODBC-driver-to-connect-to-a-Dataflow Even with the potential for a more generic ODBC Dataflows driver, a native connector makes a lot of sense to help keep feature parity in the Power Query codebase in PowerBI Desktop and Excel.
