Conditional Tooltip popup

We have a table in a report, where we already do conditional formatting based on some data (i.e. some cells are colored when that condition is true). We have created a custom tooltip report to show additional data for those table cells. However, we would like that tooltip to only appear when that condition is true, and otherwise have no tooltip for the other table cells.

  • IOW - Dynamically enable/disable tooltip display PER CELL for tables and matrices. If a boolean measure value is true for that cell, then display, otherwise, do not display. Sparsely populated tables/matrices with tooltips ON is a mess of empty box overlays when hovered over. This idea is requested elsewhere many times - with its total vote count dispersed.
  • Yes. Thank you, Anthony. For tables and matrices, tooltips may be undesirable for empty value cells. 'Report page' tooltips are greatly appreciated where flexible tooltips are much needed, but an expression-based condition to disable/enable their display would solve this issue. 'Default' tooltip display can be conditional, too. This will be especially useful when rows and/or columns are marked to 'Show items with no data'. Empty tooltip boxes appearing over the top of empty cells have no value.
