Composite models when connected to AS models (PBI datasets and Azure Analysis Services)

We really love the new feature of 'Composite Models' in the Power BI July 2018 update! This enables us to join custom lists with DirectQuery sources. It would also be beneficial if this would also work when connected to SSAS Tabular in DirectQuery. This would stronlgy improve the enterprise features of Power BI.

I hate being unable to add non-service data sources to a report that uses service data. This at least would allow a base dataset to be used for multiple complex models. Is this anywhere on the roadmap, because it's absence severely limits the usefulness of ever using service datasets?

This missing functionality is potentially meaning we need to buy and deploy a non MS solution for our data reporting/analytics.

Multiple connections to different data sources are very essential .... specially when it comes to live data to combine with locally imported data .... thanks

Can we make more calculated measures from the measures already present in the cube. If not then is there any other way to do this. It can easily be done when we connect to the Data warehouse. but cannot be done when we connect to the cubes. Is it right.

I was connecting to Cube and then found out that new connections to database is not supported, so, decided to Switch to Spotfire. Connecting to different source would come as a necessity

Any news or plan for this idea? It would be an awesome feature for doing quick ad-hoc analyses on published tabular models together with different other data!!!
