Composite models when connected to AS models (PBI datasets and Azure Analysis Services)

We really love the new feature of 'Composite Models' in the Power BI July 2018 update! This enables us to join custom lists with DirectQuery sources. It would also be beneficial if this would also work when connected to SSAS Tabular in DirectQuery. This would stronlgy improve the enterprise features of Power BI.

As many have said, not everything is in one cube.

I used Excel to connect to SSAS MD to build pivot tables using a connection string with the property (Extended Properties="LocaleIdentifier=4105") to load the English data from our Cube managed on French and English. I'm using Power BI Desktop and I'm not able to change the connection string or to find how I can specify this setting in order to load English data from the cube.

'@Everyone why would you have multiple cubes that need to be pulled together? The purpose of a cube is to pull all related data into a one view so that citizen developers can create reports with a controlled and standardized measures.

This feature is a necessity. We need to be able to create relationships between live data and attribute files that are maintained in Excel. Also, website data can be blended with this as well. Truly a necessity.

This would be huge for our planned method of creating shared data models across the organization that could be pulled in together as needed for individual solutions.
