Comparator dropdown list count to be accurate for screen readers

Bug / UX Discrepancy

In a dashboard, the comparator dropdown list is read, by NVDA and JAWS screen readers, as a list of twenty four items but also as a list of twenty five items when the last one is reached. This problem seem to happen in all dropdowns lists within the slicer visuals.

This may lead to confusion for screen reader users.

Steps to Reproduce:

  1. Open the screen reader (JAWS or NVDA)

  2. Open the dashboard

  3. Navigate to the page/tab and interact with the Comparator slicer combo box dropdown list items until reaching the end one.

  4. Observe the description given

Expected Result:

The slicer list count of items should be accurate. In this example, the list items should be read by the screen readers as 25 items from the beginning, the 24 options plus one (“Select all”).

Actual Result:

The slicer list items are read by the screen readers as 24 items from the beginning and it changes to 25 at the end, reading them backwards as the 25 until a point in the middle that changes to 24 again.

Impact:

Screen readers users.
