Color Customization in Power BI Model View

The Model View is essential for organizing relationships and tables in Power BI, but when models become complex, the visualization turns confusing and overwhelming. The ability to customize colors for tables and relationships would bring a huge improvement in clarity and productivity.

This feature is not just aesthetic, it addresses a real need for cognitive accessibility. People with attention difficulties, dyslexia, or those working with large models would greatly benefit from clear visual differentiation. Colors would help to:

  • Highlight dimensions vs. facts.
  • Group tables by functional area.
  • Reduce mental overload in complex environments.

Additionally, it would allow each professional to adapt the layout to their working style, making Power BI even more inclusive and efficient.

Direct benefit: Better organization, fewer errors, faster analysis, and a more accessible environment for everyone.

You can create new tabs in Model view and move tables into them. Tab 1: Overall view Tab 2 – Area 1: Tables related to Area 1 Tab 3 – Area 2: Tables related to Area 2 And so on. Relationships are shown automatically when you move two os more tables that have a relationship.
