Chart View Details with Export to Excel

One of the most used features in other tools in this space (including Proclarity/PerformancePoint) that users LOVE is the ability to hover over a visualization and choose to View Details. A window then pops up that allows them to see the underlying details with an export details to Excel option.

Microsoft needs to build, what most non-Microsoft BI vendors already provide in their tools: An Export to Excel button! After all, that is the third most commonly used button, after Ok, and Cancel 🙂 http://www.powerpivotpro.com/2012/03/the-3rd-most-common-button-in-data-apps-is/ Here is an idea of how the Export to Excel might work/look like: http://www.powerpivotpro.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/ExportToExcel.png

Shouldn't we merge this request with http://support.powerbi.com/forums/265200-power-bi/suggestions/6696392-copy-paste-the-data-behind-the-visual-in-power-bi#comments ?

I have a number of client who have requested this feature. This is a major criteria when they evaluate new tools. I look forward to seeing it in the future.

Extremely useful feature – Any ETA?

We use Power BI for Livesite investigation and often there is a need to copy the stack trace and send to the developers for further investigation. Inability to do so make it less useful for us.

What's the ETA on exporting data to Excel? This is not a useful tool until that can be accomplished.
