Change column labels/names in the visual

It would be great if we could change columns labels/names in the standard visuals (Table & Matrixes mainly). In our company we have a data warehouse build to support the PowerBI tabular model with the data. The field names in the data model are not the most intuitive to our PowerBI End User. It could be great if we could change the way the field labels are shown in our tables to be more intuitive and meaningful without needing to change the field names in the data model.

Hi Amanda, this is really great. I've been waiting for this feature for ages! Thank you! One thing though. If you use a live connection to SSAS Tabular, the "Rename" option doesn't show up for fields from a hierarchy.

Agree with Frenk (comment on July 8, 2017). I just spent plenty of time "organizing" my data into Hierarchies, and I just found out I cannot rename the columns for fields from a hierarchy. Please provide this feature. It will be extremely useful. Thank you, Eduardo

The ability to show values in matrix/columns aligned vertically is still missing. Amanda, what you have marked 'Completed' does not provide this ability.

It would be great to be able to rotate text for the column headers in tables and matrixes. some of my data descriptions are lengthy and it ruins the look of the visuals.

Will this feature be added to Power BI Desktop Report Server edition? Is this the right place to post this?

This feature has been added. Once added to a visual, you can rename the field and it will appear as specified.
