Change Default Visibility For New Report Elements In Existing Bookmarks
One of the attributes that is saved in a bookmark is the Visibility of report elements, this is wonderful since I can create an “app like” experience by having a single page with a “menu” which shows or hides visuals based on what the user is looking for. The only problem with this is that every time a new visual or shape is added to a page (regardless of if it’s a chart, text box, button, or just a line) it shows up as visible in all pre-existing bookmarks, thus requiring me to manually update every bookmark to hide the new report elements. This seems counter-intuitive since if I have already predefined a bookmark then I should only need to update it if I want to make a change to it, not to avoid making changes based on other updates to the report. Especially when there are dozens of bookmarks this becomes very cumbersome and slows down development. It would be great if there was an option to change the default behavior of bookmarks to either show or hide all report elements which are added after the last time a bookmark is updated.

- JoerobertAdvocate VI agree with this proposed change. I end up spending more time adjusting the bookmarks than writing my DAX expressions.
- j_romijnNew MemberI think this idea deserves more attention, for the following reason: I have also built a report with several buttons & bookmarks to imitate a "Menu". Now I have published this report, and later added a new menu option before republishing it. Now all objects in this new bookmark are automatically shown in all Personal Bookmarks, created by users previously. They then see an overlap of objects which renders the report unreadable. On the other hand, I can't really think of a situation where it would be better to automatically show obects instead of hiding them when working with "Display" bookmarks.

I'm finding myself spending a fair bit of time updating all of my bookmarks to hide new visuals when I add them to my report. As I create more and more bookmarks, I'm spending more and more time hiding new visuals. It's busy work, and it's a bummer. I'd really love to be able to set the visibility of a visual across all bookmarks.
