Please add official support for the Spice ADBC connector in Power BI and Fabric.
Spice is an open-source query and search engine that federates queries across distributed data sources (Postgres,
MySQL, S3, Snowflake, Databricks, etc.) and accelerates datasets locally with DuckDB and Apache Arrow.
Current gap: The Spice open-source Power BI connector works in Power BI Desktop as custom connector only. Needs certification for Fabric semantic models, dataflows, and pipelines.
Why it matters:
• ADBC delivers Arrow-native columnar data (no ODBC/JDBC conversion bottleneck)
• Federated queries across Postgres, S3, Snowflake, Databricks with zero ETL
• Sub-second dashboards on billion-row datasets via DuckDB/Arrow acceleration
The ask:
1. Certify for Power BI + Fabric
2. Add to native connector gallery
