Calculated measures when live connected to MDX cubes

In May 2017 Power BI Desktop started supporting creation of DAX measures when working in live connect mode to an external SSAS model: https://powerbi.microsoft.com/en-us/blog/power-bi-desktop-may-feature-summary/ Vote on this idea if you want support for calculated measures against multidimensional models too.

So my votes on the other feature didn't mean what I thought it meant? You should have closed that feature in the beginning and split out two new. I think you'd have seen mdx was preferred. Very few people are going to see the change and actually come move their votes. From the beginning mdx has gotten the cold shoulder in so many ways. Why would you try to force your customers onto tabular when there are so many scenarios that are more difficult. Tabular is a solution that makes 90% of scenarios easier and 10% nearly impossible. It's the same mistake MS made with ASP Web Forms in effort to make development easier they painted you into a corner that made alot of things nearly impossible.

Lack of MD support is indeed a major holdup for several of our clients. They would love to migrate to Power BI, but now we have to "reinvent the wheel" to implement their requirements, instead of just switching to PowerBI

MD should start to get the features at the same time as TB we MD customers are a allways being forgotten and we are the ones advocating MS products and SSAS

This is the thing that will prevent us from moving off our current data visualization software. I don't want to lose live functionality or have to modify our cube every time we need to build a slightly modified calculation.

As others have mentioned, I think we all though multidimensional models would be supported based on the other idea thread...disappointing that we have to start a new thread to get this feature.

Its disappointing that, we can not create Measures for Cubes live Connection. I thought, May release would make it possible. Can you please let everyone know by when can we expect this? Coz, to bring "measures for SSAS tabular live connection", you took quite a long time. All we need is an estimate time of release at this moment please. We need to answer other stake holders of our project for the same question.

Fortune 200 company with many MD models in place. It's critical that MS enables this functionality so users can be empowered to create their own measures on the fly.

Why is Tabular the first to get everything! It seems from reading comments MD is still heavily used?

Wow, what a surprise! My vote was useless in the original Calculated measures topic, as I wanted it for MD. Really, can't you keep consider the critical mass that still usesMD heavely? We are always left for the end...

My original vote was also for SSAS MD support, we did not need the tabular. Agree with everyone the fact this was not included is disappointing
