Calculated measures when live connected to MDX cubes

In May 2017 Power BI Desktop started supporting creation of DAX measures when working in live connect mode to an external SSAS model: https://powerbi.microsoft.com/en-us/blog/power-bi-desktop-may-feature-summary/ Vote on this idea if you want support for calculated measures against multidimensional models too.

Really need this feature asap. Please update this and let us know when on the horizon this will be addressed. With large, high volume dbs, we need to use MDX cubes and we need to do some minor calculations on the fly to be considered business "intelligence".

Why can you add an MDX Calculated Measure in Excel 2016 using the OLAP Tools when Live Connected to a cube but you can not do this in Power BI? I would like to see the same OLAP Tools available in Power BI for live connections to cubes. Thank you.

Hi, I really really need this. My originally vote was for this, not for Tabular Model. I have been waiting since lot time ago. Our datasets are too large for Tabular. MDX is right for us. We need to create calculated measures like other software does. Do it soon.

My organization also greatly needs this feature. We regularly use live connections to our multidimensional models. But can't feature any measures not embedded within the cubes. This is unacceptable, as it forces us to embed specific report calculations into our cubes incurring dev and deployment overhead, with very little reuse for the cube-embedded report-specific calculations.

This feature would also Power BI SSRS get. This seem to be such a essential feature when connecting live to SSAS.

Fully agree with the comments below, e.g. of August 30, 11 and 9. I would also appreciate to see some feedback (announcement) from Microsoft. They made a promise when they acquired DataZen, didn't they?

'Agreed. The ability to expose the base modelling features in PowerBI when connected to a live SSAS MD or tabular data source, are exactly what my current client need. Specifically: - grouping / binning - query multiple data sources - add calculated members
