Calculated measures when live connected to MDX cubes

In May 2017 Power BI Desktop started supporting creation of DAX measures when working in live connect mode to an external SSAS model: https://powerbi.microsoft.com/en-us/blog/power-bi-desktop-may-feature-summary/ Vote on this idea if you want support for calculated measures against multidimensional models too.

Same problem for us : with the 2021 March version this solution does not work anymore. This is SO IMPACTFUL for all the reports we have been building this way. Our all community will be progressively impacted as version upgrades are done automatically... Is there any possible roll back or evolution to (re)open the possibilities on MDX datasources ?

As stated below with the 2021 March version this solution does not work anymore. Please give us this workaround at least back !!!

I can confirm. It worked before with MD model when connection via Power BI dataset. It doesn't work currently. Please add this functionality back.

So I talked with Microsoft Support. Dev team has switched it off in March update and won't tell if this will be enabled in the future on not. Vote...

Same experience as everyone else. PLease Microsoft re-enable this. Even if it produces the occasional wrong result, it is up to the developer to ensure it is correct and it is so useful. Thank you.

Same here. Old measures can be modified but there is no way to create new ones. (btw the vote seems to be disabled)

MOST NEEDED FEATURE FOR ALL SSAS USERS ( MIGRATING TO TABULAR MODEL IS HORRIBLE (THERE IS NO MIGRATION SUPPORT TOOL FROM MS ) AND THERE ARE STILL TOO MANY UNSUPPORTED FEATURES) --> EXCEL HAS A BETTER CUBE SUPPORT --> WE REALLY LIKE PBI (EVEN on THE PBI RS) (HOW MANY VOTES ARE NECESSARY THAT MS SUPPORTS USERS WITH GOOD SOLUTIONS ?) ( Another interresting link : https://blog.crossjoin.co.uk/2020/07/12/migration-from-analysis-services-multidimensional-your-feedback-needed/ ....just read the blog entries)

We still need this functionality! I've had to roll back to old versions of Power BI Desktop in order to preserve this feature. This is essential when Power BI developers are building reports based on SSAS MD, where changes to the cube take way too long to implement (needing tickets, meetings, approvals, etc.). Give us back our agility!
