Bug Replace Value and Fuzzy

I have a column called "Company Name" with values like "Company1 SpA".
When I try to replace "spa" with an empty string (""), it seems to work: after the step, I only see "Company1" in the "Company Name" column.

However, when I use this column in a fuzzy merge with another table, it shows "Company1 SpA" again.

If I replace the exact characters "SpA" with "", then it works correctly.

It looks like a bug, and it took me hours to figure it out.
