Back-button feature to clear selected drillthrough filter value
As drillthrough function we use a filter and we give value for it from other report page. I click back-button and it will take me back to where I was before. In the background filter value stays unchanged. I use drillthrough function again. Filter value changes and I see visuals filtered with that value. I use back-button again. I navigate to that report page manually and to my surprice value selected in prev step is still selected. I know that I can open my filter selections and clear selected value but I'd like to do is to start exploring my data without any preselected drillthrough filters. Filters in filter pane are a bit confusing to end-users and some of them cannot even find them.

- garrek991New MemberExcellent idea. We either need an auto clear or an explicit Clear Filter button.
- kristinnsNew MemberThere are a few posts around the same issue, would be good if it would be possible to merge them... https://ideas.powerbi.com/forums/265200-power-bi-ideas/suggestions/31397962-clean-drillthrough-filter-on-back-button
- nicole_willenbrNew MemberThanks for posting this. I was surprised when I realized the drillthrough filter holds after going "back" and the only way to release it is through the filters pane. We discourage our users from using the filters flyout pane because they can really mess up their data if they adjust filters.
- mark47New MemberI was going to submit the same idea. Report drill through is a fantastic feature, and works great if you only ever use drill through to navigate from one report page to another. But after using drill through, if you then navigate to the same report page manually the drill through filter is still applied and it gets a little fiddly and confusing. Having the back button clear the drill through filter would be perfect!
- Paul_LackINew MemberThe back button clearing the filter would help a lot.
- josh_flory1New MemberYes, the ability to show the "drill through filter" in a filter slicer (drop down box) with the option to clear it would be VERY helpful. Especially when we do a drill through to say a given state to show a state detail view, but then the user goes "Hmm ok now I want to see Texas" they should be able to click the drop town and change it WITHOUT having to go back and re-drill. Also, a "Limit" option so that when a user goes to a drillthrough configured page it ALWAYS displays 1 and only 1 record (so if they were to clear the drillthrough filter manually it wouldn't show all 50 states at once as the page was designed to show only a single record not sum all 50 together)
- allan_bondNew MemberI support using the method employed by Tableau where the developer is given the choice of how drill-through filters should behave: "Clearing the selection will: () Leave the filter, () Show all values, () Exclude all values"
- adam_hendersonNew MemberExisting functionality is a little clumsy given even after hitting the back button the user can navigate to the page through the pages at the bottom of a report..it's confusing they should have to clear the filter themselves once going back
- tobias_owen2New MemberWith the January update allowing authors to hide drill-through pages (so they are no longer browsable tabs on your report) should address this issue.
- fbcideas_migusrNew MemberWhile hiding the drillthrough page might be helpful to some, I need to keep it visible for one of my clients because they jump back and forth between it and other pages. Being able to clear the filters without having to teach them how to use the Filters pane, either through implementing it with the Back button action or a separate function, would be most helpful.
