Azure Data Lake Analytics data source

Now we have Azure Data Lake Store as data source in Power BI Desktop which is great. But we also need acces to Azure Data Lake Analytics catalogs.

  • This is a must-have feature, and it should definitively support Directquery, since ADLA Tables can be of Terabyte size. It seems that currently the only way to read ADLA Tables is to put Azure Analysis Services in between, but even AAS does not support Directquery!
  • Catalogs should be the preferred way to connect to your data lake. I don't see any good reason why the schema needs to be reimplemented on the Power BI side, when it's already there in the data lake.
  • Yeah, what's the point of having all these data features that aren't supported? :/ Why is this all so complicated? Ugh.
