Automatically update columns if user makes changes in Excel

If I load an Excel file into PBI, then delete or rename a column in Excel, then refresh PBI, I get an error. In Tableau, if I were to do the same, it would automatically update the data (as long as none of the formulas break as a result). This would save so much time!
