I've experienced breaking visuals after using deployment pipelines to push changes from DEV/UAT to production workspaces. These errors are generally something to the effect of:
"The expression referenced column DIM_Date, IsCurrentFinancialYear which does not hold any data because it needs to be recalculated or refreshed."
A simple refresh of the dataset usually fixes the issue.
I'd like to request a feature enhancement for Deployment Pipelines in the Power BI Service. Currently, after deploying from one stage to another (e.g., Dev → Test or Test → Prod), there is no option to automatically trigger a dataset refresh as part of the deployment process. This would be a very helpful feature, as it would ensure datasets are immediately refreshed and ready after deployment.
At present, a manual refresh is required, which is often forgotten.
