Auto Refresh : Frequency of Auto Refresh should be more than once a day (Allow hourly or multiple times etc.)

Scenario : · I have live events going on different portals (video streaming services) · The consumption of all these events captured in my production database as soon as people do any action (video play, video download, bit rate, etc.) on that video. · We want to see different statistics in reporting with live refresh of data from sql server as the live event in progress. As Is: Currently Auto Refresh allows for a frequency of once a day (Workbook can be refreshed max of once a day) To Be: Capability to refresh work book multiple times a day or more frequently

Ideally, it would be nice to see the ability to refresh through the api layer, powershell or other command line interface. It is not always easy to understand "when" to refresh as upstream dependencies and processes dictate the "when". If scheduling tools can invoke the refresh then this issue goes away

Check out the free Power Update utility which also addresses auto refreshing from other sources, such as Access: http://www.powerpivotpro.com/2015/03/power-update-adds-email-notifications-macro-support-and-100-free-version/

'@Ramu As an alternative, you could use Stream Analytics to accomplish this now. When you send the consumption data to SQL Server, have a listener send a message to Event Hub, and have Stream Analytics push that to Power BI. That way you can have a near realtime dashboard without ever refreshing.

I can only define 7 hours in a day for the refresh wich means i can't refresh hourly.... Some reports needs this feature on... 😮

Yes it is maximum 8 times a day , why cant we add more refresh time? Also we need to have manual refresh capability from mobile powerbi apps. In desktop version we can manually refresh but in mobiles we cant.

We at least need to have a 12 hour window of hourly update. I.E. 14 slots of update.. 8 is an ideal situation but we work 20 hours and 4 hours of processing downtime. I think most of the global companies will need it.

This is a definite need in our industry. We are in the attractions business and need to report on hourly transactions for as much as a sixteen (16) hour day.
