It seems odd that this doesn't exist already, but can we enable dynamic display units on the matrix visual? The "Auto" selection is available on other visual types such as tables, line charts, etc. But not on the matrix visual.
Yes, I could create a custom format string with DAX, but this creates complications when I am using calculation groups to layer filtering onto visuals and enable them to switch between displaying different metrics. Would be much simpler to just bring in the "auto" display units selection.

- I agree. Also if you're using a Unit Toggle made from a calculation group, but you have lots of measures in a table it can take a long time to switch between units. And if you have logic in the calculation group it can really slow down the unit toggle, this further applies when drilling down into matrix when a unit toggle is also applied. Auto in the Display Units would work much better. Saves time and would perform better computationally.
