Authetication Sharepoint datasource even without access to root directory

Sometimes, people are not granted access to the root directory or the folder in SharePoint. They are only provided access to specific files, for instance, an Excel file. I suggest a way that lets people get authenticated with their credentials if they have access only to the file and not the whole path from the root directory to the specific folder in SharePoint.
