To make it easy to filter workspaces, and also enable cost chargeback scenarios, it should be possible to apply Tags to workspaces.

- fbcideas_migusrNew MemberAs an IT administrator responsible for PBI Service management and governance. I would like the ability to create free form tags (Similar to azure portal tags). to track key metadata like a GL Code or responsible business department or other business specific information. These tags should be exposed via the API so they can be used to pull back in reports. tagging assets in the workspace (Reports, dashboards datasets) would be useful as well

Add the ability to Tag Power BI Workspaces and other Power BI artifact such as reports datasets etc.
- pbiideas1New MemberYes! Please empower self-service like this to developers and admins. Self-reporting and self-analysis within power bi, of power bi, is very limited and disjointed.
- jmhagermanNew MemberAgree on the tagging request. We are looking for ways to make report fields searchable via the Power BI search box so an end user can more easily find the reports or shared datasets available with specific data. Could be accomplished through searchable tagging on resources or workspaces.

This would follow the Azure model that many companies use for resources and resource groups. Many uses, but mostly importantly, charge back. - nschachter

Any ETA? 🙂 - CatSmithRegular VisitorWe would like to be able to use tags applied across multiple reports in multiple workspaces as a search function. For example , maybe a user would like to see what has already been developed for "OTIF" reporting. We currently have Global Supply Chain and Regional Supply Chain workspaces where this type of content could be found, it would be a good way to browse what is already existing. The functionality should be similar to the Filter option in the workspace where you can select a tag to narrow your search. This option should be in the main page filter options, currently we only see "Type" and "Owner". Thank you

Yes! Thank you. Workspace initially would be a big help, with hopes for inheritance in the near future. We specifically need to know what company, project, etc. of ours may be spiking in CUs to move them to their own capacity, upskill, or do a charge back if needed (to name a few reasons). Domains won't work for us for this. Thanks! - KentKMishra
